'ROSE GARDENS OF PESHAWAR' SILK DESIGN BY EMMA MAWSTON

Emma Mawston worked as a designer for 24 years and was Head of the Liberty Art Fabric Design studio for 16 years . As Head of Fashion Fabrics she was the mastermind behind 30 Spring Summer and Autumn/Winter collections. When Liberty Interiors came back in house Emma worked on both fashion and furnishings before solely work ing on the interior side. She created 3 classic interior collections, 2 seasonal collections and an embossed velvet Ianthe co-ordinate collection. 

Emma introduced the first Stewart Liberty tartan and luxurious vintage style velvets, she brought an iconic interior style to Liberty with exquisite fabrics, throws and wallpaper. During her time at Liberty Emma brought designing back in house and introduced extensively researched briefs and design stories, working very closely with her team and exciting and well known collaborators. 

Emma then went on to help re-brand the vision and identity of a Furnishing Fabric company in Hampshire for 18 months before launching her freelance career in textiles for fashion, interiors, accessories. Emma has given lectures on her career for colleges and the V&A.
